The hair notes
What to know before you buy, and how to keep your unit looking its best.
Which wig is right for you?
Start with how you want to wear your hair.
- Closure wigs (2×6, 4×4, 5×5, 6×6) give a natural parting with less lace to manage.
- Frontal wigs (13×4) let you style along the whole hairline, including side parts and updos.
- Headband wigs are the quickest option to put on.

Glueless vs. traditional
A traditional lace install is fixed with adhesive. A glueless unit is made to stay secure without it, so it is quicker to put on, take off and look after.
Every GBF Luxe wig is a glueless, customized unit.
How to care for your human hair
- Detangle gently with a wide-tooth comb, working from the ends up.
- Wash with mild, moisturising products and let the hair dry before styling.
- Use a heat protectant before curling or straightening.
- Store your unit away from heat and humidity between wears.
Choosing your perfect length
Lengths are measured from the top of the unit to the ends, with the hair straight. Curly and wavy textures look shorter when worn.
Use the custom request in The fitting to try different lengths.
- Glueless
- A wig made to stay secure without adhesive, so it is quicker to put on and take off.
- Closure
- A lace piece that finishes the parting area. GBF closures come in 2×6, 4×4, 5×5, 6×6 and 7×7.
- Frontal
- Lace that runs ear to ear across the hairline (13×4), or all the way around (360).
- HD lace
- A very thin, fine lace that blends closely with the skin.
- Transparent lace
- A sheer lace that suits a wide range of skin tones.
- Bleached knots
- The knots where the hair is tied to the lace are lightened, so the lace looks more like scalp.
- SD, DD and SDD
- Standard density, double drawn and super double drawn. Each step gives fuller ends.
- Bundles
- Wefts of hair used for sew-ins and custom units, sold by length.
